Raven Elwell Stephens is a Mi’kmaq artist from the Butterfly Clan and is a member of Millbrook First Nation. While Raven is academically accomplished, having a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Allison University, and a Masters Degree in Marine Management from Dalhousie University and is working as an Oceans Biologist in Halifax, she has always been passionate about art and all the forms it can take. She is inspired by the beauty of her Mi’kmaq and Indigenous culture, and uses it as inspiration within her beadwork, her book, and her makeup artistry.
