July 24th, 2026 | Six Nations of the Grand River, Ontario
Miss Indigenous Canada is proud to celebrate the 20 delegates who participated in our 2026 Leadership Development and Ambassador Program. This year's program brought together Indigenous youth from communities across Canada to share their stories, strengthen their leadership skills, celebrate their cultures, and build lasting connections.
After months of preparation, delegates gathered on Six Nations of the Grand River on July 20th for a week of workshops, cultural activities, community visits, and opportunities to learn from one another. The experience culminated in the annual final showcase, where delegates shared their voices, knowledge, and visions for their communities.
Congratulations to Brooke Metchewais, Miss Indigenous Canada 2026!
Brooke Metchewais of Cold Lake First Nations in Treaty 6 territory was named Miss Indigenous Canada 2026.
Brooke holds a degree in Sport and Fitness Leadership and works in Indigenous Health Services, where she advances culturally safe practices and strengthens relationships with Indigenous communities. She also serves as a board director for a Child and Family Services Society and is an old-style jingle dress dancer who enjoys travelling the powwow trail across Turtle Island.
As Miss Indigenous Canada 2026, Brooke will serve as a national ambassador, representing the program and continuing to use her voice to advocate for the issues that matter to her and her community.
We look forward to supporting Brooke throughout her year as titleholder and seeing the impact she makes in her community and beyond.
