Applications are now open for the 2027 Miss Indigenous Canada cohort!

Miss Indigenous Canada is a leadership development and ambassador program for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit women and Two-Spirit youth. Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for Indigenous youth to grow as leaders, celebrate their identities, and build connections with like-minded peers from across Turtle Island.

We are looking for young people who are passionate about their communities, eager to learn, and ready to explore what leadership can look like in their own lives.

What is Miss Indigenous Canada?

Miss Indigenous Canada is about much more than a title or competition. It is an opportunity to learn, grow, build relationships, and develop skills that can be carried into your community, education, career, and future goals.

Selected delegates participate in a half-year program that combines virtual training with an in-person program week on Six Nations of the Grand River Territory in southern Ontario.

Program opportunities include:

  • Leadership development: Build confidence, communication skills, and your understanding of leadership.

  • Cultural connection: Celebrate your identity, community, and cultural knowledge.

  • Mentorship and networking: Connect with other Indigenous youth and learn from community leaders and guest speakers.

  • Community involvement: Strenghten your contributions to your community and explore opportunities to create positive change.

  • Professional development: Develop skills in public speaking, project planning, grant writing, and advocacy.

  • Ambassador opportunities: Represent the program and share your experiences, values, and community initiatives with the world!
