Raised in Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement in northern Alberta, she grew up in a close-knit community grounded in land, culture, and tradition. Guided by teachings of respect, balance, and gratitude, she learned to value the land’s gifts and her responsibilities to it. Supported by a strong family, she witnessed generational challenges and limited opportunities, yet remained determined to pursue education. As one of the first in her family to attend university, she left home to break cycles of hardship. Inspired to pursue medicine, she is committed to uplifting Indigenous voices and creating meaningful change through resilience and knowledge.
